To get a real estate license in Arizona, you must follow these steps:
Meet the eligibility requirements: You must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to provide proof of legal residency or citizenship.
Complete the required pre-licensing education: You must complete 90 hours of pre-licensing education from an Arizona Department of Real Estate (ADRE) approved school.
Pass the Arizona real estate exam: After completing the pre-licensing education, you must pass the Arizona real estate exam. You can register for the exam through the Pearson VUE website.
Submit your fingerprints: You must submit your fingerprints to the ADRE for a background check. You can get your fingerprints taken at any of the authorized locations provided by the ADRE.
Apply for your license: Once you pass the exam and your background check is cleared, you can apply for your license through the ADRE’s online licensing system. You will need to pay a fee, provide proof of completion of pre-licensing education, and your passing exam score.
Complete a 6-hour contract writing course: Before your license is activated, you must complete a 6-hour contract writing course, which is also offered by ADRE approved schools.
Find a sponsoring broker: Finally, you must find a sponsoring broker to activate your license. Your sponsoring broker will need to submit an application to the ADRE to activate your license under their brokerage.
It's important to note that the entire process can take several weeks or even months, so it's best to start early and be patient throughout the process.
